Why are you interested in our festival ? |

Linda |
Oxygene8 is honored to return to perform in your beautiful country; we have heard many great things about Crescendo Festival and are very happy to be a part of it. We will stay for the whole festival to listen to all the bands and musicans. We will take a little holiday at the beach and be with friends as well. We have made some special friends and fans in France and we wish to see them again to give them our love and music! And...... when we were there earlier this summer, we noticed that the air in France smells like flowers. We return to smell the flowers! Oxygenate with flowers! |

Last May you played in Prog'sud manifestation, what did you think of your audience?
Linda |
The audience was very gracious, appreciative, sophisticated – just lovely. Everyone responded so sincerely to us and our music. We really look forward to possibly seeing some of the same audience and friends at Crescendo Festival as well! |
Damien |
Do you know Lazuli?
Linda |
Yes, we are so happy to know Lazuli and we are excited and honored to be playing with them at the festival. Such very good, kind people and fun to be around; their music is truly beautiful.

Why the choice of the Chapman Stick ?

Linda |
I think we chose each other. (a smile). For some reason, I feel I found my voice in the Chapman Stick......... its percussive qualities attracted me from the beginning and for some reason, I feel this instrument is magical and it seems to make lasting friendships. |
Damien |
How will you explain the relationship between the name of your band and your music ?

Linda |
Oxygene8 is a play on the word…..”oxygenate”…..means to give breath or life to something, someone. I would like to breathe life, love and peace into the world with our music. The English spelling was already taken by a company in the US, but I am happy about that because the French spelling and sound is very beautiful, don’t you think so? Ahaha! We also want to rock and make people have fun as well! Claudio and Kiko are so much fun to “oxygenate” with! |
| Damien | How did Claudio and Kiko join O8 ? |
| Linda | Ah, Claudio and Kiko...... I get so happy when I think of both of them. I feel very fortunate to be playing with such fine musicians and they have become sweet friends in my life as well. Alfonso Vidales is the person I must thank for bringing us together. We all met through the BajaProg Festival in Mexicali, Mexico. We all admired each other's work and thought it would be a fun thing to play together. The chemistry, the passion to play music, the sense of humor........... it's all there. It's something that just really works.

| Damien | What is Tim Alexander's contribution in your music ? |
![]() |
| Linda | Tim is a part of everything I do musically, either as a drummer, producer or co-writer. He was a huge part of the Oxygene8 debut cd, “Poetica,” and he recently produced and sang on the debut cd of EZOO from Mexicali, Mexico. (Kiko King and I are a part of this project as well). I think I'd feel a piece of me missing if Tim wasn’t there. It is amazing to play with such a great drummer...... it makes a huge difference to a band or recording project to have this kind of support. |
| Damien | Guillermo Cides will be on stage with you, the songs will be re-orchestrated for 2 bass-scores ?
| Linda | Working with Guillermo is always special and very much fun for me; we do only slightly different arrangements of the songs when he plays; he is an amazing player and he just finds a tasteful space in the music in which to work his magic. Cides, or “el Maestro,” is a naturally gifted musician and it is always a pleasure to share the stage with him. |
| Damien | I read in an interview that you consider "Freak Of Chance as a transition," but what sort of transition ? do you have any idea for the next album ?
![]() |
| Linda | Yes, I believe a strong transition is being made musically with Claudio and Kiko in the band now; there is a definite “power trio” thing happening and we will all co-write this next album. The new music will still keep its melodic integrity, but I can say it will be a bit more complex, edgy, and dynamic with rhythm and groove. One of the new songs is called “Braid” and like a braid in the hair, this is one of crazy musical notes, rhythms and harmonies.
| Damien | According to you, why any of your songs are played in American Idol ? (That's a stupid question, I know ..... haha !) | ||
| Linda | Ahaha!!! We will give you the answer at the Oxygene8 concert at Crescendo Festival! |
